Project support
The first-of-its-kind phosphate recycling factory S&S Feniks is being developed in collaboration with several public partners.
S&S Feniks, the joint venture between N.V. Slibverwerking Noord-Brabant (SNB) and SusPhos B.V., has been awarded a grant from the Demonstration Energy and Climate Innovation (DEI+) scheme of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The DEI+ scheme supports companies that invest in energy-efficient or CO₂-reducing technologies. The subsidy can reach up to 30 million euros per project, with a total of 175 million euros made available in 2025.

S&S Feniks' first-of-its-kind phosphate recycling plant was awarded support from the Just Transition Fund (JTF), a European Union programme designed to help regions heavily reliant on fossil fuels and carbon-intensive industries transition to a climate-neutral economy. The fund provides roughly € 620 million to affected Dutch areas to support green technology, retraining, and business innovation.
